The National Heritage Council (NHC), an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) in partnership with the Northern Cape Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the N!uu Language Authority (NLA) will host a one-day workshop of the first phase of the N!uu Learning Material and Curriculum Development Plan. The workshop is intended to grow and revitalize the language use for present and future generations. The workshop will be hosted under the theme; " N!uu My Language, My Heritage".
The challenge that the language is currently experiencing is minimal learning material, especially after the language was listed as critically endangered by UNESCO.
The first phase of the N!uu Learning Material and Curriculum Development Plan entails an Orthorgraphy and Spelling Rules to address some of the issues identified by the NLA.
This phase will form a strong foundation to grow N!uu language knowledge, use. Memebers of the media are hereby invited to the workshop that will be held as follows:
