Project Coordinator

REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate recognised degree or National Diploma. Two to three years experience in overseeing training and skills development projects involving multimillion budgets. Sufficient knowledge of legislation, directives and practices governing grant allocations and/donor funding at National and Provincial government.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Solid project management skills, presentation skills, people management, computer literacy, strong communication and listening abilities, good analytical writing and sound reporting abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee a multi-million training project funded by grant allocation by the Training and Education Sector in the Provincial Administration to its completion phase.
• Develop a funding raising implementation plan for the Provincial Administration to access in the available funding in the training & education sector and other available donor funding.
• Implement the aforesaid fund raising plan for the Provincial Administration by drafting proposals to the National Departments that provide grant allocations and making regular follow-ups.
• Liaise with key stakeholders such National Treasury, Department of Labour, Department of Higher Education and Training, FET colleges and many others for purposes of securing funding for the Provincial Treasury
• Perform any other ADHOC duties as deemed appropriate by the Director-General for purposes of securing donor funding for the Provincial Administration.

Duties:
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
Provide second tier support to end users.
Configure and troubleshoot computers, laptops and printers.

Maintain links to clients/users to resolve queries.
Assist in planning and monitoring utilization and capacity for current and proposed
installation, including changes, by performing defined tasks
Assist in investigation, diagnosing and resolving incidents/problems as directed.
Conduct tests of the hardware and/or software affected using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools.
Correct malfunctions, calling on other experience colleagues and external resources

Knowledge and Experience

  • Remains up to date with regard to the prescripts/policies and procedures applicable to his/her work terrain to ensure efficient and effective support to the Director General;
  • Ensure the safekeeping of all documentation in the office of the Director General in line with relevant legislation and policies.
