Northern Cape Department of Sport, Arts and Culture has once again achieved a Clean Audit outcome for the 2024/2025 financial year, marking a significant milestone for the Department and reinforcing its commitment to accountability, transparency and good governance. This follows the Department’s Clean Audit outcome achieved in the 2023/2024 financial year, demonstrating consistency in maintaining compliance with government financial and expenditure prescripts.
The achievement reflects improved administrative efficiency, sound financial management practices and strengthened governance systems within the Department.
MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Mr Mangaliso Matika, welcomed the achievement and expressed appreciation to officials across the Department for their dedication and commitment.
“The Department achieved a Clean Audit in the 2024/2025 financial year, building on the Clean Audit outcome attained in the 2023/2024 financial year. This is a momentous achievement that many believed was impossible. I therefore take this opportunity to thank the DSAC team. These consecutive Clean Audits reflect improved administrative efficiency, prudent government expenditure, accountability and quality governance,” said MEC Matika.
The Department further acknowledged the collective efforts of management, officials and all stakeholders who contributed towards ensuring compliance with legislative and financial prescripts.
A Clean Audit outcome demonstrates that the Department’s financial statements are free from material misstatements, with no material findings on performance reporting and compliance with key legislation.
The Department remains committed to maintaining high standards of governance, strengthening compliance measures and continuing to deliver quality services to the people of the Northern Cape.
